Weekly Runs

Monday Speedwork

Speed workouts will continue to meet in Sugarhouse Park on the road west of the Highland High Track. Do the lesser distances if you are not preparing to race in late 2011 or early 2012. Workouts should also be reduced if you are just beginning a speedwork program. We will take a winter break from speedwork from Thanksgiving through Presidents Day. Keep an eye on Facebook for informal speedwork sessions. We will do two speed work session at the Utah Olympic Oval (5800 South Cougar Lane (4900 West)) at 5:30 PM on the following dates. January 16th MLK Day February 20th Presidents day

Marathon Schedule

February 20th Olympic Oval6-10 x 400 meters. 90 second rest
February 27th 6 x 3 minutes. 2 minute jog recovery
March 5th6-8 x 2 minutes. 90 second jog recovery
March 12th4-6 x 800 meters on the track if it is snow free, 3 minutes recovery. 4-6 x 3 minutes if track is not clear. 3 minutes recovery
March 19th8-12 x 400 meters. 90 second rest

WEDNESDAY FUN RUN

Runs start at 6:00pm and will rotate locations until the end of October. After that they will be held at Highland High until the time change in the spring. Runs are about 5-6 miles in length.

SATURDAY FUN RUN

Saturday runs will be held at 9 am at varying locations. *Breakfast Series Runs members have agreed to host breakfast after the Fun Run. Breakfast location announced at the run. Host will provide a main dish; please bring a beverage or breakfast item to share. Fun runs are informal, non-competitive runs open to members, guests, and runners of all levels of experience and ability. Non-members are welcome but are asked to join the club and sign a liability waiver if they participate on a regular basis. There is no fee for the fun runs, and no facilities are provided. SUNDAY RUN

Informal run (5-6 miles) at 8:00 AM Highland High School, 2100 S. 1700 E.
